I have never known very much about Marcel Proust, that is until I read this completely captivating book. Bob Dylan once said,"ain't no use talking to me,it's just like talking to yourself. " or something like that and this proves the truth of that, because Proust never talked to people. Rather,he had them talk to him. He'd listrn to them talk of their lives,he'd ask them questions. This book gives clever accounts of what this intelligent man thought about the important everyday things of life. It's fun and funny to hear how he would rather have the common person even the servants as friends. He tells how to be a good friend. He gives us his scathing view of reality but good advice onhow to live in spite of knowing the truth. You may be surprized to find you have much in common with him while also learning more about life and perhaps your own self than you knew before. Proust can change your life, but only if you read this wonderful book.Read full review
