The 1987-P Kennedy Half Dollar was considered to be one of the scarcer coins in the series shortly after it was struck. It's mintage was only about 2.89 million which was considerably low. Especially if compared to the mintage of other Kennedy Half Dollars struck during the same time period, for example the 1980-P Kennedy Half Dollar had a mintage of over 44 million.
Then in 2002 the Mint surprisingly struck about 3.1 million Kennedy Half Dollars at the Philadelphia Mint and another 2.5 million at the Denver Mint. In the following years the Mint continued to strike very low mintages at both Mints.
The 1987-P Kennedy Half Dollar seems to be scarce in MS66 condition but there are probably still thousands out there that have not been graded. In MS67 condition far fewer exist, probably a few hundred examples survive. In MS68 condition it is really scarce and less than 5 are known with none being finer.
Mint cello Kennedy halves are very nice. Good price. Also sent a list of other items for sale in a flyer
