I bought quite a few DVD's on this disaster which rocked our nation. Being a resident of the affected area, I was curious to see the view/opinion others had of what happened here. I found this DVD to be informative and the coverage of events very good. I do think however, that all of the media sources tended to focus on those who chose to stay and cry about the consequences they later faced when, in fact, we have been told for years what would happen. Like us, they were warned and given every opportunity to leave. Like them, we didn't really have the money to leave but we did. And, when you take a look at how many cars were in the flooded areas, it becomes clear that, in fact, they chose to take the gamble ...unfortunately they lost the bet!
This is an excellent NOVA series DVD produced by WGBH in Boston for public television. I highly recommend it to anyone who has questions about HOW and WHY Katrina devastated the New Orleans and Mississippi Gulf Coast regions.
"I like how the before and after drama unfolds keeping the audience at the edge of their seats". Compelling and interesting, this documentary explains details on natural causes, public actions, goverment response along team rescue efforts collide in one of the most horrific doomsday catastophy of American history.
