This film was truly made for David Bowie and Roseanne Arquette. It has a quaint air about it. There is the idle rich who own an "in" club in the City and the people that Bowie and Arquette play who are yearning to grasp the winner's prize in life. Arquette's character is a waitress in the club and she aspires to be the next Houdini and is an avid collector of Houdini's memorbilia. Bowie is the swarmy bartender who must find a wife to stay in the country (or so he says ...)
Loved it! One of the best movies I've rented in years. So much going on you'll want to see it twice. Lots of irony and quirky situations. I highly recommend it for anyone who is tired of the tragically hip Hollywood types.
