Overall, this film was an interesting watch, but it was more about the love story in which Robert Taylor and Richard Todd vie for Dana Wynter than about the D-Day mission. It was one of the few films I've seen that starred Richard Todd. The relatively short sequence depicting the Normandy Beach invasion was acceptable but far too short for a film titled D-Day, the 6th of June.

With the actors in this I was expecting a Great War Movie to add to my collection, Instead it was a Sappy romance about a British and American serviceman veying for a beautiful English girl and who would end up with her. No war action to speak of and the ending left me wondering about the main actress character sleazy and cheap. My recommendation is if you pass this one up you did not miss anything.
war and romance and guns
