This new Stargate SGU is very slow to get the story off the ground, It took me to the end of season one to get in to it and by the end of season 1.5 I like it I got Season 2.0 coming in a week or so. It is to bad that it have to end after Season 2.5. For me the best of the Stargate series is Atlantis # one, SG1 # 2, SGU #3 I never like Carter in the series in SG1 and when they brought her back into Atlantis that was the down fall of that series & now we see her in this here we go again!! I am happy to see more of Jack & Daniel Jackson in SGU series, that is one good thing it has going for itself!
Remember the basic premise of "Star Trek: Voyager"? A starship relocated to another quadrant of the galaxy, facing years of travel to get home? The Stargate Universe toughened the stakes in Stargate: Universe: A mixed-bag crew of civilians and military are gated to an alien starship on the far side of what might not even be their own galaxy. They have minimal resources, little understanding of, and even less control of, the ship's systems. The ship, named Destiny, is on a locked course with only short stopovers on the way. The original Stargate: SG-1 series was a delightful mix of action, suspense and humour. Stargate Atlantis followed in that vein quite admirably. But in much the same way that the recent Battlestar: Galactica toughened up the original series and storylines to paint a grim picture of humanity's desperation at war, Stargate:Universe is a much tougher, darker storyline in the Stargate saga. Special effects are of course brilliant. A very solid cast portrays very believable characters and viewers are easily drawn in. The ONLY regret I have about the first season is that it ran just 10 episodes and I had to wait anxiously for season 2 to get under way. After seeing the episodes on TV I could not resist buying the DVD season set.Read full review

I really like the movie and would tell every one they should watch it. After becoming a big fan of SG1 and SGA, I was looking forward to this series. The group we have is basically what’s left of a research and military base that’s studying a Stargate on another planet, along with a few civilian visitors who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Led, sort of, by Dr. Nicholas (Robert Carlyle), the group discovers that the ship was made by The Ancients, and that the life-support system is failing. The clock is ticking on how much air they have left, and if they solve that problem, they get to move on to figuring out how to get home.
