The movie is equally or even more relevant in today's time. It shows how a specific media can destroy its target's reputation and life, even an entirely innocent persons. And here the media is unnamed ghost letters. Today, the media isn't even resorting to the anonymity, the writers, whether the media houses, or on social platforms, are with impunity, doing the work, what back then people were afraid to. It has the hero, who looked to be innocent, had not only being demonized by some ghost mailer, but also all the people who are in contact with him, are besmirched, by attributing unsavory relation between him and them. The relationships indicated are not always impossible, in fact the circumstantial evidences hinted in the ghost-mails, make any third person believe these to be true. The moral of the story, is not to believe in the media gossips, but would we learn? Not likely, even after watching this, or movies like this. Read full review

Made during the German Occupation of France (under the auspices of Cosmopolitan, a Nazi-controlled corporation), Le Corbeau eerily echoes current times. A must-see for serious film fans.
