These little AAA battery operated sensors are great for turning lights on and off, home audio announcements and even sending text message alerts with Indigo. Keep an “eye” on your space!

I've used several of these for years, but often with the same problem: Setting the MS16A to recognize my desire for 'night only' seems to work about half the time. This setting is possible, but is not always recognized in use. Suggestion: change the paper/online information to to say that Lithium-Ion cells will the best, especially for in the cold of winter. Suggestion and probably a stretch: have the unit preserve its settings for a minute or so when changing the batteries. And see suggestion above to make this a less frequent thing. ...Charlie, a long-time user of many X10 things.

Works great once you have it programed. the directions are lacking details on how to make it work, but once done it is great.

After 15 years outdoors in hot humid summers and cold dry winters of Canada, I had to replace the original MS-16A because the sensor window was cracked (from weather) causing the sensor to not work reliably. The new one made the system like new again. If you used this indoors, you might never have to replace it. I have this pointed down about 30 degrees so that people walking on the street about 30 feet away don't turn on the lights unnecessarily. I also recommend lithium batteries especially if you have winter temps below about 0 F or -18 C. Lithium work and last better than alkalines at those temps.

Lightly used but a good deal for the price. I haven't tested them yet but I'm hopeful it's just a matter of programming.
