This is the Final Cut -- the Director's Cut of Blade Runner, and even includes a brief introduction by Ridley Scott. He says this version was remastered, using 4K technology, and the soundtrack was also remastered, so it is in some ways more gorgeous and luminous than the original. My only beef with the film was that he cut the final scene, which more clearly sets up the sequel [that came 30 years later], and the resolution is more vague. Do they escape together or don't they? The DVD is in great shape, perfect, and came quickly. The packaging is good, so I am quite happy with the seller.

This is by far the best version. I've seen all the versions and at first I was thrown off, because scenes were coming in a different order than remembered. Once it takes off, this version is the correct one, the one that makes the most sense and still maintains the idea's integrity. A timeless film, with such far reaching influences, hard to believe it was made well before computer graphics. A tremendous love story wrapped around a murder mystery in an astoundingly beautiful setting. "Blade Runner-Final Cut" is a film for the ages.

Robotics, A.I., and Computers have come along way since this movie was first released. This futuristic dystopia depicts what happens when high technology all goes wrong, politics that mimics the atypical over the top response, a protagonist that questions the status quo and begins to think outside of the accepted norm. It still feels relevant to today day in time as it did in the past, and glimpses the future with the decline of civilization with its overcrowding, constant advertisement as a result of extreme capitalism, less than desirable government/policies, and exploits the pros and cons of technological advancements.

The widescreen version is great. The standard screen version suffered in the reformat and is sometimes fuzzy. Both versions on same disc.

Since the new one came out it was good to see the original, it was really fun to see what 1980 director thought 2019 was going to be, funny to see smoking inside restaurants and pay phones.
