This game gets a lot of playtime at my home. My 4 year old has no problems completing the levels or completing the game. (Do not misread; it is still challenging, and requires her to have to save passwords and try numerous times before she completes a level.) The game starts with a sudden thunderstorm that scatters the herd of horses, Spirit included. You have 2 characters from the movie to play with. You may pick between Litle Creek or Little Brook (Native American characters in the movie). The objective in the game is for your character to find the horses one by one (4 in total to get to the "Spirit level"), and gain their trust (you will have to feed them, water them, sing to them, or brush them, etc. Each horse has a meter you can check to see exactly what it is he/she wants.). Then you must complete a level (3 per) with each seperate horse. After all of the horses are home, you must find Spirit, and (without trying to give the end away), help him escape. This game is attractive for 2 reasons: 1) It is based on the movie characters. If your child likes the characters in the movie, they'll like the characters in the game. 2) It is interactive. You must gain the trust of the horses by learning what they want. Oftentimes during the play, while you are riding them they will buck you off becuase the trust has faded away some. (They are, after all, wild horses.) You must then gain a little bit of it back. You also must be sure to have a supply of food (each horse likes different types), water, and "health" (in the form of "hearts") on hand, which you can pick up by walking around; they are in plain view. This is a really good game for younger gamers. Depending on their gaming skills, older children may find this game too easy.Read full review
I bought this game for my 9 year old grandaughter. She has been a fan of Spirit since the move came out. She was very excited!! However, she quickly became disillusioned with the game. It was very difficult to play and she could not play it without adult supervision. Even the adults had a hard time figuring out how to play. I would recommended this game have age of 12 as a minimum age. Maybe the older kids would be able to figure it out.
My ten year old girl likes this game. She hasn't played it that much, but she got a lot of games for Christmas. I have played this game and it is o.k. It isn't hard to get the horses to like you, but it is kind of slow. If you like horses and the movie Spirit, I think you might like this.
Very fun for horse lovers. Still fun for non-horse lovers. A little hard at first but gets easier throughout the game. I can beat it in one hour now that i've played it alot. Great game!!
My 6yr old daughter loves Spirit and loves this game! It has been easy to learn to play and she takes it with her everywhere! Thanks for the game!
