I love the MCU! Now, this is a standalone film that the MCU decided after Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), came out and announced he is Iron Man. Yet, this was filmed and out before that started, so I think they had an idea where to head, but just not in any given way. The Incredible Hulk lives up to its name, and Edward Norton doesn't let us down. Now, as a MCU lover, I will say that Mark Ruffalo does a lot better job in the long run, and I hope he continues to be The Incredible Hulk. Lou, man, he was the best and I am a fan of his. Moving on, if they were to continue to go with this in any sort of way, I'd love to see them try. I hear rumors of Mr. Fix It and She-Hulk. If any comic book fans are out there, then you know what I am talking about, and I hope you all stand with me and be very happy to see it happen. So, if you gotta have all MCU, you must get this to complete your collection.Read full review

The movie starts out very cool with Dr. Banner on the run from the U.S.A. military and searching for a cure to being the Hulk. Yet, the movie spends way too much time on Banner and not enough on the Hulk. The movies keep forgetting that THE MADDER THE HULK GETS, THE STRONGER HE GETS! They also forget that the Hulk can actually talk not just scream and snarl. Plus, the Hulk has a long list of super-powered enemies that they could've put in this film. Also, the Abomination character design wasn't good. SO hoping that the next Hulk movie is better.

While most film remakes tend to be predictable, this film was a surprising breath of fresh "Movie Air". Wow. Edward Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner was extremely impressive and teaches us that artistic creation does matter. I wouldn't have missed this at all in theaters, however, I might have had something going on at that present time that caused me to miss the initial introduction in theaters. After over a year after its release, I finally caught this on video. Thanks to the wondrous world of Ebay, I finally caught this last evening. While more than over the top, we find our buddy that we always loved Lou Ferrigno in a small part as a security guard. The U.K. Born Tim Roth is totally awesome in his role. We get to hulks for the price of one in this film. Little do we know until the very end that Stark Industries, Inc., our old buddy Tony Stark is going to show up and get involved, yet during the first 4 minutes of the beginning, we almost figure all this out because the headlines and information flashes telling us of Stark's involvement. Perhaps this may be pointing us toward a second movie involving Ironman as well. Let be hopeful Amazing graphics was only the icing on the cake. The screenplay didn't waste any time at all in telling us through the 4 minute screen credits what had actually occurred with our main character becoming mutated by gamma rays. I'll have to hand it to the production and design team and wonderful acting on the part of Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Ed Norton, and the rest to present this film in an absorbing rendition of the most incredible story in comics. 5/5 for genius. For those that know only of the original comic book Hulk, the TV series Hulk, or the regrettable Ang Lee Hulk, you should know that this new version is a mixture of origins. Without spoiling it, one of the larger ingredients in this new Hulk comes from a Marvel series that is an alternate universe. There are many differences in the Ultimates Universe. In this version, Banner did not get his gamma radiation from exposure during an experimental bomb explosion. I won't spoil it, but you can go to www.marvel.com and look under "Ultimates" if you wish to get the gist of it. I can truly say that this version captures a little of everything, so that no matter what your knowledge is of the Hulk character, there's tie-ins to everything. Personally, I felt this reboot was well thought out. It allows for any future connectivity by not limiting it to one version of the Hulk. This will allow future Marvel movie-makers the ability to pick and choose aspects from the multitude of alternate universes, re-tellings, and time spans to combine whatever they please. This was well cast. When the overall product can make me forget the fact that I don't like a specific actor, and truly appreciate the total entertainment experience, it's something to smile about. I won't mention which one I don't care for, since all that will do is spark useless debate. Story - intricate and intelligent, fast-paced, yet deeply explanatory, complex, yet easily taken in by non-geeks. Enough references to the true comic, alternate comic, and TV show, that everyone in the sneak peek seemed to be pleased. I surely was. CGI was great. Don't know why some have to nit-pick, but you can't please everyone, I guess. Action was wonderful with plenty of it!Read full review
We love this version of THE INCREDIBLE HULK. And with the heroic part he played in The Avengers, my son would not stop asking me to get it for our collection. We all know the story: Dr. David Banner, is being hunted by General Thaddeus (Thunderbolt Ross), the father of Betty Ross; Dr. Banner's love. But the reason why the general is hunting David is because he thinks his body belongs to The Army, and he has plans to use it for his own diabolical scheme. Meanwhile, Dr. Banner has been laying low and wants to be rid of The Hulk, so he's trying to find Mr. Blue, who is going to make that a reality. But before that happens, Dr. Banner bust out at the seams, has to protect the one he loves and the innocent from a new threat - The Abomination. We absolutely love this movie because it has a great plot, its full of action and suspense and the graphics is very nicely done. It pulls you in, keeps you hanging on - a thrill ride from start to finish. Enjoy.Read full review
