I bought this book for one of my college courses. I was skeptical at first, but since I had no choice I had to buy the book. Enrique's Journey turned out to be a very heart wrenching novel and I couldn't have asked for a better read for a college course! However, the book did seem less like a novel and more like an analytical dialogue with many many facts, overall the book held great purpose and meaning. I'm glad I chose to order this book. The only thing I could say I didn't like about this novel was that, again, it was way too journalistic and since everything had been researched it seemed as though I was reading straight into the author's journal. I would definitely buy Enrique's Journey again, if I lost the book. It was a great read and I highly recommend it to others.
Enrique's Journey is an amazingly detailed story about a young boy's journey to the U.S to find his mother. The author Sonia Nazario does a very good job with details for example in this quote from her book, "The year before that, a young man's forehead was beaten in with a metal tube." The details in this quote paint a very vivid image for the reader. Even though Nazario creates suspense she takes long to get to the point, she also lacks a complex vocabulary. I would recommend this book to patient readers. I would not recommend this book to anyone that enjoys books that get right to the point.

I bought this book because it is something we will be reading in my English composition class. I have only begun to read the first 26 pages and epilogue, but already find myself in love with the book. While reading the epilogue, I found myself wanting to cry!! It is very sad. I cannot wait to finish reading this book. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Awesome book, tells a truly touching story with astonishing pictures and context. I had to buy for a class but it was well worth it, the attachment will grow beyond just the classroom.
