As you know there are many books written on radio and radio manufacturers. The Alan Douglas series Manufacturers of the 1920s (three volumes) is the "bible" for collector's of these radios. Eric Wenaas takes one of those manufacturers and, through years of research and travel, creates the most comprehensive collection of information ever written about the Radiola series of radios from RCA in the years 1919-1929. The amount of information and attention to detail will absolutely blow you away! The book starts with a chapter called "The Stage is Set" starting with the American Marconi years (1899-1919) and ending with the formation of the Radio Corporation. After the first chapter, RCA and Radiola equipment (made by GE, Westinghouse and Wireless Specialty) is introduced in order of production throughout the rest of the book covering every model until 1929. There is a small chapter on RCA from 1930-1935 to wrap up the complete story. There are 9 Appendix sections with all kinds of charts and other data including a section on Foreign Radiolas! Everything you ever wanted to know about these Radiolas is here! I doubt if even RCA knew this much about their products! The book contains some of the most spectacular photographs of these Radiola products that you will find available. Not just a photo of the radio but also a photo of the inside chassis on most models. These are great pictures if you are restoring one of these. Even the add copies are high quality. In conclusion, I am sure that this is now the RCA "bible" for the years 1919-1929. The volume of information is staggering and if you are a radio collector you really need this book in your collection. Hats off to Eric Wenaas! Hey Eric, when are you going to write another one?Read full review
