It provides an accurate account of African American history.It goes from Africa to slavery to being freed and discriminated against.This books takes us from times when we were Negroes,Blacks,Afro Americans and then to modern times.The book doesn't mince words and the reader can know what African Americans went through and also how they triumphed and contributed so much to modern America.This book should be in every African American's library.It's great for teaching your children Black history and for educating on where we came from and what we went through.
