I am new to reflexology, looking for alternative health techniques to improve a health condition not well-resolved my mainstream medicine. This book is an excellent general introduction, with lots of illustration and practical advice for how to do the techniques on oneself and on others. I ranked it "excellent" instead of "good" because some discussion was too general/equivocal for my taste. It was emphasized that even if reflexology doesnt change the person's health, he/she will feel better about the fact that he/she is doing something proactive to help him/herself, and that caring touch is good. These reasons are too obvious and not about reflexology, in my opinion. It gives anecdotal stories about individuals whose health has been tremendously helped by reflexology. I would prefer a quantitative discussion of how often this helps, and for which types of symptoms, and references to scientific studies. But again, the photographs and discussion of "how to", including tips for not injuring the provider's hands, is first-rate.Read full review

This book is very well done. It's illustations are incredibly detailed and very complete. The history is great. I really enjoy using this in my salon to enhance our manicure/pedicure services. It has enhanced my perspective on reflexology and helped me to truly appreciate the benefits it has to offer. I highly recommend this book.
