Although I have encountered a few similiar style books covering German Knight's Cross holders, this is the first book that I've encountered concerning our own U.S. heroic wartime actions. The Medal of Honor (MoH)book spans living medal recipients with a recent picture and a service picture. These MoH veterans recall the action that would qualify them to win the award. By their own accounts, a majority of them felt that they were just doing their job and that most seemed surprised that they either lived through the event or that their event was special enough to earn our nation's highest honor. The veterans presented include warriors from World War II, Korea, and the Vietnam conflict. I only know of the hardback version which is of good quality. My only negative keeping this book from an excellent is the brief one page summary for most veterans on their account of winning the award. With these brave individuals heading into the afterlife, it would have been nice for more. Overall, a nice compilation of U.S. heroes not often found outside of a long worded individual memoir. The Medal of Honor book is a solid attempt to fill a void not often encountered.Read full review

My son is a young Marine, 3 yrs now on a 6 year commitment, he loved this book that we gave him as a christmas present. My son loves to read anything that pertains to the United States Military.
This book is so inspiring- makes one remember that it's the people of America that make her GREAT. I bought the book so that i would understand the sacrifices made for all of us, the scope of the cost- i have not been dissapointed- fantastic read that i highly recommend to all.
