Based loosely on Chaucer's "a midsummer night's dream" - this movie is updated for the crowd of kids that grew up in the 90s. The reason i didn't give it an "excellent" rating is mostly because some of the dialogue/acting seemed a little rough around the edges, and probably could have been fixed with a re-take; although this is mostly at the beginning of the movie. But barring that, this movie is excellent, from witty dialogue to good music, to showing what drug culture at raves is like, to what happens when someone who doesn't belong at a rave goes to a rave. Of course, Puck's character is the most memorable of the movie, and it was probably designed that way on purpose, as Puck is always a memorable character. The Nick character happens to be really insightful, i didn't realize it until several viewings later. Xander is an all around good guy, easily liked, he has some of all of us in him. Mia's actress tries a little too hard to be Drew Barrymore sometimes, and it was slightly distracting; but her character was probably the least believable until the very end. Elena vacillates between being homely and being really attractive and cute several times during the movie. The director and director of photography did an excellent job of showing what drugs can induce in both self-perception and the perception of others with just this character alone. **mild spoiler** The story is believable, in that the "plot" of the jacket is a minor one, and the love quadrangle is the main idea behind the movie you're watching. All in all it is worth renting or buying on ebay to own - especially if you like electronic music.Read full review
I remember seeing bits and parts of this movie a year or so ago, and have wanted to see the whole thing. Being part of the rave scene myself, watching it all the way through was great fun, though the plot seemed very underdeveloped. You wanted to know more about the main characters and less about the one or two side characters that didn't really matter much. In the end, it's a movie about a bunch of young adults having not-so-family-friendly fun, with spontaneous romantic relationships sparking everywhere. If that's your thing, it's a good movie to watch on a rainy night.

I bought this movie because it was recommended under "Rave" type movies. All the music in the movie was relaly good. They also had some great Dj's such as Dj Irene which was awesome!. Being a Raver for the past decade though - I hate to say this movie did not do raves any justice. It seemed really fake and the sound quality was bad - it didn't sound like they were really at an "outdoor rave" it was obviouse they were in a big studio warehouse - so that took away the "feel" for the event. The plot was alright but some of the events were ridiculouse. I was really dissapointed because I expected a "rave" type movie and what I got was another boring love story where the characters happen to stop by a so called rave. I wouldn't recommend it to any ravers :)~
This item was average. I suppose you could say it met the qualifications as in it was the right movie, but subtitles keep appearing every few minutes saying over and over and over again that this movie is not for resale, which makes me doubt the original selling of this item to me. It also says "SCREENER / NOT FOR RESALE" on the front as well, along with a $24.98 price tag on the back. I am highly confused and am not so sure I can firmly trust in the manufacturing of this movie. It there any way I could receive a copy without these highly annoying features?
