It is my understanding that the old British East India Company not only minted money for use in India and other nearby locations, but it wielded power almost like a sovereign nation. Having one of their coins in hand and thinking of the unwashed hands it passed through, way back in rather primitive times when life was cheap and people did not live that long, well it kind of sends a shiver down my spine. This is once again holding history in one's hand. Rudyard Kipling might have spent this coin at some time, think about it. OK, its just a copper coin. You could melt it down and make electrical wire or a rivet out of it. In its present shape and form, you can conjure up tigers and elephants and the days of the raj.
