I bought this phone to replace a brand new LG VX5600. The LG was pretty inadequate, but it did have great battery life. The reception was awful, the speaker phone was barely audible, and the bluetooth was very weak. The Motorola E815 is far superior in every way. I need a phone that can grab a signal in some pretty out-of-the- way spots, and this does it. It never drops calls. Both the bluetooth and speaker are loud and strong. I have a camera so the photo capture of the phone aren't really an issue. I use the phone for talking, and I am usually in the car when it gets used so texting capability doesn't matter. This may make me an oddball but just build a phone for talking. Make one that grabs a signal, has great battery life and is durable, and you have a market. Music players, QWERTY, GPS navigation and the other stuff is all pretty worthless in a cell phone.Read full review
This could be the best phone ever. Voice quality is exceptional. Calendar and reminders are easier to use than a smart phone. Missed calls are easy to review and make call backs. Speaker phone is loud and clear. I've used one of these ever since they came out and it's by far the best cell phone I have ever owned for call sound quality and ease of use. I'm in sales and my smart phone battery life (droid x) is not enough to get through the day making phone calls and sending emails, etc. so I forward my calls to my E815 and pay the $15 for the extra line of service. This way I can use my smart phone for emails and web browsing and this E815 for talking and voice mails. The ONLY problem with these phones is that the hinge gets loose with time and use. It can be slightly annoying especially if you wear it on a belt clip, cause it kind of flops open easily, and also can flop closed unintentionally. This is only a problem if buying a used version or re-furbished model. The black version also known as E816 has a rubber grip surface and is very nice also. I wish they would make an improvement on the hinge and re-release this phone. It is my all time favorite! Buy it new if possible or get a good re-manufactured by Motorola version so you won't experience the loose hinge problems. Other than that you can't go wrong with this phone.Read full review
I had posted this review on phonescoop. I don't have the treo anymore, and I have the chocolate touch now. here is the review This phone is AMAZING. IF you can still find a deal on it. I hardly see them available anymore. I've left this model and got a LG Voyager, but looking at maybe getting a treo and that phone is awesome. I came from a V710 to this phone. This was a certain change. Pros: Great Camera with Video (V710 also has video) Great sound quality VCAST Everything else Cons: Nothing, i guess with all the features the battery goes weak fast but nothing an extended battery or more charging can't fix.
Best cell phone made for using as a phone! Has excellent cell power. It is always the phone we turn to when we can't get signal with any other phones. Also has great volume and mic. You can hear and be heard. Very clear. My father has profound hearing loss. If his hearing aid fails (battery dies or something like that), he can still hear calls on this phone. Very durable. My father is a farmer - drops this phone all the time, gets stepped on, filled with dirt (pretty much filthy all the time) and yet it keeps working. Camera gets filled with dirt and won't take good pictures - but they don't make slide covers for any phones anymore. If you want a phone to talk on - and never drop signals even in remote areas - this is the best I've used since cells when digital. (I've been using cells since the 'brick' phone days) One con - the charger port and connector are weak. Non uncommon on cell phones. But needed to mention it with this review since it can be problematic.Read full review
Excellent phone. I believe this is one of the best flip phones ever made. The numbers are easy to use, the screen is very readable, and the camera takes excellent pics. My mom had this one,and so I was hooked on it. This is my first cell phone of this kind. My only experience with this one, is via the one my mom had. It took less than a hour to charge after I got it. The one thing I noticed about it, is the way the charger plug is designed to connect to it. It has little spears on which it hooks to the phone. You have to be a little careful with it. That's the only thing I see, that's a bad thing. I hope this does okay with everyone...
