Christian Bale (Batman Begins and the Dark Knight) stars as John Connor in this fourth installment of the Terminator series. Set in the year 2018, John Connor leads an attack by the Resistance on a Skynet base (Skynet destroyed most of humanity in a nuclear attack. The movie is very involved in the life of the resistance leader and those who choose to follow him. In the film some good alliances are formed and some traitors are discovered. The movie stars: Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jadagrace Berry, Michael Ironside and Helena Bonham Carter. Unlike the other Terminator movies this one is rated PG-13 (The others were rated R) there are scenes of Violence, intense action, and some language. In this version of the film you receive the P&S Version of the film and a Digital Copy. Even if your not a fan of the Terminator Series you will be impressed with the graphic in this movie. The movie was great to see in the cinema, way better than the T3 thing, in my opinion. Regarding this DVD issue I must confess I was a little bit surprised by the picture quality, it looked like it lacked resolution. Maybe this is because I have a widescreen equipment and stretched it, and this is the point of buying the widescreen edition, which at the time of my purchase went for a slightly higher price. Also the digital copy offer, that I was supposed to get, was in the box, but it has expired somewhat a year ago. I was not interested in this digital copy anyway, since I have the DVD already, but if you may be deciding betweet the "Digital Copy" version and "Regular" version, check if the Digital Copy offer is still valid.
I am a big fan of the Terminator movies and honestly the second and third were nowhere near as good as the first one. This one, in my opinion was very close to being better than the first one (it isn't but it was close). It is extremely action pack. It it is pretty much not stop action from the start of the movie to the end. It also has a good storyline and it doesn't really have that much language in it. This movie is by far one of the best movies made this year. I hope that the next Terminator movie will be as good as this one is. I would rate all the movies in this order... #1-1st #2-3rd #3-4th #4-2nd The year is 2018. Judgment Day has come and gone, leveling modern civilization. An army of Terminators roams the post-apocalyptic landscape, killing or collecting humans where they hide in the desolate cities and deserts. But small groups of survivors have organized into a Resistance, hiding in underground bunkers and striking when they can against an enemy force that vastly outnumbers them. Controlling the Terminators is the artificial intelligence network Skynet, which became self-aware 14 years earlier and, in the blink of an eye, turned on its creators, unleashing nuclear annihilation on an unsuspecting world. Only one man saw Judgment Day coming. One man, whose destiny has always been intertwined with the fate of human existence: John Connor(Christian Bale). Now the world is on the brink of the future that Connor has been warned about all his life. But something totally new has shaken his belief that humanity stands a chance of winning this war: the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger from the past whose last memory is of being on Death Row before awakening in this strange, new world. Connor must decide whether Marcus can be trusted, but as Skynet adapts new strategies to end the Resistance forever, Connor and Marcus must find common ground to take a stand against the onslaught to infiltrate Skynet and meet the enemy head-on.Read full review
I thought it was a good finish to a great series.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Terminator Salvation is action packed all the way through! The plot is very well written and provides many powerful and intense scenes. All the stars give an outstanding performance, but Sam Worthington as Marcus steals the show. My only complaint is that Christian Bale (as John Connor) speaks in his Batman voice the entire movie, which can get slightly annoying. Overall great movie though and I would rank as the best of the series
