I tested it with a set of test weights and it was dead-on out-of-the-box. I like the handy weighing tray and always use the dust cover. The dust cover doubles as a larger tray. This scale is the way they ought to be. Well, it comes up in grams and for me that's great, since I find grams so much more accurate anyway. I may be crazy but in each portion of my trail mix I put something like 8.6g cashews, 10.5 grams dried mango.... And with this scale, I can do that and when I am on my last portion I still have enough of everything to make that portion work too. Thanks for such a great scale! Now I just need a bigger one for when I don't need to be as accurate and need to weigh heavier things. I am sure I will go with the same brand since this one is so great.
