i found the regular shaft driver to be the stiffist reg flex shaft i have ever hit . i am just getting used to it . when i hit it my drives are consistently longer than with my previos driver taylor made r580. i got a 12 degree loft as i was told it was very good way to go , just back the ball up too keep it low . i am still getting used to it . right now i wished i got a 10.5 degree but there werent any available online at ebay. i think with more playing time it will work out , thw weather has not let me play with more than three times
I bought this driver because I left my Rapture Driver in AZ when I moved to MN for the summer. This driver is longer when I hit the sweet spot than my older Rapture. But it seems that I am not able to hit it as consistently. It could be that the shafts are different?? Both are Regular flex but if I remember right the older one is a soft regular?? I have a G5 driver up in MN as well and when I want to be more consistent I go back to the G5. When I want longer drives the V2 is the one.
I have hit alot of drivers including the G10 which i liked and played for a season or two. I think the Rapture V2 is similar but i would give it a big edge over the G10. Mine is a 10.5 loft shafted with a Diamana Blue Board in regular flex. My swing speed is in between 97-100 mph and i am a 6 hcp if this helps anyone reading this. Not a huge ballooning combo which i was a little worried about. In fact it is kicking my Taylormade R9 460 with a stock Aldila Reax stiff shaft out of my bag which is also a 10.5 loft. Smooth and controlled feeling shaft with this head is pretty explosive when you nut one. Forgiveness is very good as well. I haven't hit the G15 but i doubt it would beat this driver. I am not going to bother to even try one. I am gaming this stick for a while which for me is impressive. I think i finally found the one. There are alot of good drivers out there but don't discredit the Rapture v2 because it is a few years older than some. The prices are right on these now to pick up for a hundy or less and i think you will be extremely glad if you get one. No adjustability on these like my R9 but i never liked the results when i adjusted mine anyways. Either it added loft or turned it into a hook machine so i played mine neutral anyhow. This club has pop in its bat and the sound is pleasing at impact. I say try one and the Diamana Blueboard is great too.Read full review
Bought this driver here on ebay specifically for the Diamana shaft, and considering that it was less than half the original price of the driver, and significantly less than I would have paid for the shaft alone, this driver was a total steal. The driver head itself is very nice - it is more traditional looking at address than some of Ping's newer offerings, but has a lot of weight concentrated towards the rear of the head, presumably for stability and to help get the ball airborne. However, it is the shaft that is the money part of the club. The Diamana shaft is fantastic - very responsive, regardless of how I am trying to hit the ball. When I swing easy, it allows for that, but most importantly, when I try to let it rip, the shaft can accomodate that as well. Doing both of those things is something I have never seen from any other shaft. Just amazing. I don't know much about the stock shaft, just that it is a gaudy bright green...Read full review
This driver was purchased with extremely high expectations, but did not quite live up to them. I was using a Callaway Big Bertha II, but with my purchase of used Ping Zings 2 and a ton of research - I just wanted something that was high, long and straight with maximum forgiveness. This driver feels and looks nice, and it does hit the ball high and somewhat straight, but it is not nearly as far as the previous Callaway Big Bertha I was using prior to my purchase. I cannot say I don't like the driver or that it is not good - but I was looking for an upgrade to my previous driver and this was not the right choice for that. I have since sold this driver and purchased a brand new Callaway Diablo Octane - and WOW!!! A Callaway Diablo Driver is, simply put, incredible! I added anywhere from 20 to 40 yards on my drive and it is the most forgiving club I have ever used. I was sold on Ping from my research, reading others reviews, etc., and the Ping Zing's are great irons - but this driver just did not live up to the expectations that I had.Read full review
