This device has remarkable electronics, considering the low price. The electronics work as intended. The weak link is the tape drive. After successfully converting three cassettes, the tape would not run at the correct speed. Of course, one cannot demand too much from an item this cheap. However, I had hoped to do more than three. The instructions are fun to read. The Chinese translator had some problems.

In concept, the unit does what it says it will do. The quality of the mp3 is only 128kbps. In itself, that's not too bad. The main issue is that as a stand alone unit, meaning not connected to your PC, it is basically useless as it kills batteries very quickly. No way you're able to convert an entire cassette (both sides) to digital before the batteries die. It can be powered by USB so you have to have it connected to your PC. Another issue is while it is connected to your PC, you have to keep it away from your monitor screen as it gives off some background noise that you will hear in the digital file. For the price, I don't feel I wasted my money. It's a small price to pay to see if this will work or not. The manufacturer needs to figure out how to make the batteries last a lot longer. Or make it so you can use a power supply to keep it powered. If I have to have it tethered to my PC, I may as well just plug in my old Walkman and record it through my PC recording program. As for the quality, the unit is solid and made well.Read full review

Disappointed with this purchase as it didn't really work. I bought it hoping to copy precious lullaby songs from a cassette tape to my computer. My cassettes were playing but volume not loud enough to hear. It was a very slow process for each tape and only one worked, but sound not loud enough to be usable. Just trying to be honest. Not a good buy.

There is a problem with the sound being slowed down or distorted so the recording won’t work. It would stop recording mid-song. Very annoying. The product uses batteries which doesn’t last long. Would not recommend this. However, when you get it to work, it does what it says.

Concept is great, quality not so great (Not of the product, its cheap Chinese made and worth the money) - I am referring to quality of mp3 capture. It must have a mic to record because it captures tape whirring in the background too. Ideal way is to attach an external tape via audio input and record on the stick. It works like a charm though and I am not disappointed in it. have transferred couple tapes to mp3 and it worked as advertised.
