This DVD has actually been around in video form since at least 1998 when I first saw it at London's Royal Tournament. It was being used by British Army Music to introduce prospective members to a couple of facets of Military Band life. Mainly Ceremonial Performances/Marching and Concerts. The opening is great featuring the Fanfare Trumpets of the Grenadier Guards. We then proceed to a vitually all Sousa March Program performed by musicians of The Band of Her Majesties Grenadier Guards. I love this DVD because the performaces were designed specifically for the DVD. We see the Band and ceremonial units marching around Blenim Palace and therefore witness the pagentry that have made the British the world's leaders in Drill and Ceremony. Of course the selections include all of Sousa's favorites, Stars and Stripes Forever, Washington Post, Semper Fidelis, King Cotton, High School Cadets, and many more. Two British Bugle calls are also thrown in as well as elements of the Battalion under going training at what I beleive is the Guards Depot, Pirbright, although I'm not sure. For what it's worth, I'm a High School Band Director, and I found this DVD Highly entertaining, instructional, and most of all enjoyable. I've watch it several times and plan on watching it several more. I hope you like it too!Read full review
