Advertised as "Indoor/Outdoor", however, the instructions say, "indoor only", despite having a waterproof material on the outside. (see photo of instructions) I assume it's "waterproof" to prevent the possible or probable urine from damaging the heating element inside. It isn't machine washable, spot cleaning only. This was purchased for our outdoor semi-feral cat, who has been enjoying it immensely in our sheltered carport.

Started using it around a week ago. We put it in our garage and our old outdoor cat loves it. On the enclosed instructions, it reads "for indoor use" so this could be misunderstood. I'm not sure if it would be safe to use in a outdoor dog/cat house but it is perfect for inside a garage.
