I use this phone basically for business. Phone calls, contacts, calendar, calculator. It has some games and camera but I don't use those features often. Likes: - Has all the functions of a PDA and works as expected: Address book (voice dialing), MP3 player, web browser, calendar, etc. - Fully syncronizes with Microsoft Outlook - Thumbwheel, scrolls, pushes (in, back and front). This is great for navigation through most of the screens - handwriting recognition. Not quite as fast (in terms of number of strokes/letter) as Palm Graffiti, but the strokes are just like you would write them so it's easier in that respect. - big color screen Dislikes - the plastic keypad. This is the cheapest part of the phone I think. It finally broke after a couple years of use so I used the phone in the detached mode - using the virtual keypad (displayed on the screen). - Can't hear music through the bluetooth headset. Have to use the stereo wired handsfree kit that comes with it - or listen to music in speakerphone mode which is decent Comparisons to other products I used - Palm treo 600: the P800 was faster in navigating the apps and screen resolution was better. Phone is more compact too - t-mobile SDA: This is a windows mobile OS phone that just came out last year. The OS is much slower, crashes pretty often - about once every 2 weeks and the user interface is very inconsistent. Something that can be accomplished with a few clicks and rolls of the thumbwheel on the P800 takes double the clicks on multiple buttons on the SDA. The main advantage of the SDA is that it has built-in wifi which the P800 does not.Read full review
This is an awesome phone. Is similar to a computer, even has the paint program that you can do drawings. MPS player with a lot of space to save MP3 songs. Sme thing with videos and small clips. I have some commercials of different clones in it. Once you learn how to work with the phone, you'll love it. At the beginning it may seem kind of hard to work with cause it has so many options like a computer.
I don't know much about this phone as I bought it for my girlfriend, but she is a hardcore cellphone addict and loves it. It is part PDA and part phone, it looks cool to me, but I really don't know that much about it.
is a good telephone, nice camera, nice reception, the problemwith thist phone are the cantact store, are very dificult.
I have used a P800 for about one year and was a bit disappointed. The reception is good but the Symbian operating system is not living to my expectations. Here are the points that disappointed me. 1. Unable to record while in a call (Practical when you want someone to leave is phone number while driving) a Motorola 280 does it! 2. Calendar is not accurate if you play with the option first day of the week (date get shifted one day “Tuesday 5th will be Monday 5th!!!”) that means that if you shift an appointment to next Monday you will be notified next Tuesday! 3. I had a palm pilot prior to the P800, the appointment notification offered the option edit but not the symbian OS, if you need to reschedule you have to close the notification and then navigate to your calendar and find the appointment to edit it. 3. It plays movies but you will need to find or convert to an unpopular format. I could resume this way; great toy but a desapointing tool…Read full review
