Jack Higgins has and shows his in-depth historic knowledge of Germany under Hitler and its hopes to become a world power. I admire and am fascinated by his expressions of Hitler and those around him, those who saw him as a demigod, and those who thought his way of rule was effective. I like that Higgins does not judge in any 'right' or 'wrong' directions, just write to entertain and if you need, to teach. I was blown away to know that other countrymen were part ofthe Hitler regime, fighting on Germany's side in the war, sometimes, it seems, against their own. Take the brothers for example one for Germany (because of the mother)one on the British side, none interested in the US of their birth. The grandfather a senator inthe US government. This might have been written as fiction, but somewhere deep in history there is a reality of such. I aim to read every bood Jack Higgins wrote and plan to leave them as part of my legacy.Read full review
my husband is a WWII junkie (Dad was in Iwo Jima) & loves this book. Can't pin him down to just what , but one thing he loves is the writing & the authors style.
Jack Higgins is one of my favorite authers, I have read all of his books, And my only complaint is that he doesnt write fast enough, I need at least one new book every week :O) I wont divulge any plots of the book because if you are like me you dont wont to know the plots untill you reach them in the book. But I do highly recomend this book.
This was an entertaining, easy and enjoyable read. I would recommend this anyone interested in aviation or military history.
