Big Battlestar Galactica fan and loved disc

Despite having watched the whole BG series, I was confused by this film's constant flashes back and forward, lacking narrative continuity. For a newbie, it would be very hard to follow, and that breaks your enjoyment. Sorry to say this because I loved the series and wanted more.

Shado X Collectible Toys @ shado-x-collectibles ebay Id Rating ***** (A++++++++) Excellent! Battlestar Galactica: Razor Absolute must for all fans of Battlestar Galactica. The story is about the Battlestar Pegasus from the surprise Cylon attack and escape from destruction, commanded by Admiral Cain, to Lee Adama assuming command. If you are a fan of old school BSG, then this DVD is for you. It also added classic Cylon Warriors & Raiders into this story's recollection/characterization of the First Cylon War! We can't recommend this enough!! You need to get this saga ASAP!!

I am a great fan of Battlestar Galactica, but I was disappointed in this movie. In my opinion, Admiral Caine is a bitch who exploited her staff and their decisions, and turned them to the evil by undermining their conscience, and made some very bad moral and ethical decisions of her own. That they survived is not due to her, but sheer luck and fast work of her bridge staff. The major redeemed herself by staying behind to blow up the Cylon breed-ship; that is the high point of the movie, as far as I am concerned. I was particularly appalled by Caine's decision to strip the colonist's ships by force and leave them helpless - that was not necessary for "survival", and in stark contrast to Captain Adama's compassion and rescue of survivors from the surprise attack by the Cylons. The movie does help fill in some holes in the first 2 seasons, and some background on the first war with the Cylons as well, so it is a good reference in spite of the faults of Admiral Caine. And it probably is an accurate portrayal of differences in commanders and their decisions in times of great distress.Read full review
As far as made-for-tv movies go, this should rank as among the best. Excellent writing for the two principles (Adm. Cain and Kendra Shaw) and great acting all-around. The visuals are what you would expect from Battlestar Galactica, meaning they're the best on television. The story is definitely very mature for science fiction television, dealing with themes that affect today's military men and women, but setting it in a futuristic environment. It really makes you think about the true cost of war, not just the lives lost, but the lives that are forever changed. Sometimes, in order to save humanity, your own humanity must be sacrificed. This is definitely worth checking out for Battlestar Galactica fans, and fans of science fiction in general.
