I absolutely love this series! Iain Glen plays Jack Taylor, a private detective with a lot of problems, but he also is good at his job. He's frequently in sticky situations, but manages to get out of them too. As always, Glen adds depth and feeling to his characters, making you want to have a beer with Jack and tell him everything's going to be okay. Totally engrossing storylines and well acted all around. The setting, Ireland, specifically Galway, adds a lot of small-village interest. This whole series is well worth the money and I'm hoping they film a few more episodes.

Sets 1 & 2 are terrific featuring riveting characters and memorable dialogue, drama, plots, and photography. Set 3 is disappointing. Plots are contrived, cast members replaced, and even main character, Iain Glen/Jack Taylor, appears self-conscious imitation of his character. Series lost its way in Set 3.

Intense suspense throughout. Ex-cop turned PI who investigates with wild action, deadly results, and passion on multiple fronts. Excellent writing of plot mixing in threads. Based on bestseller Ken Bruen novels. This guy investigates his own way, and usually gets a round of beating in each episode. He's tough, has to be, the crimes are ugly, and the solutions are amazingly woven together making it near impossible not to be surprised at the end. A solid support cast for Iain Glen (Downton Abbey) who shines as Jack Taylor.
The acting is just great and in some scenes it seems true to life. GREAT Acting !!!!!
