One of Don Bluth's finest animated films and an outstanding score by James Horner, "The Land Before Time" has never received the release treatment it deserves. There was a full screen DVD, then a widescreen DVD, and now finally this widescreen bluray. However - not only is this disappointing release completely devoid of any pertinent bonus features (as this film always is) but the transfer is awful. The film hasn't been remastered in any way, this bluray is just an upconvert from the widescreen DVD - and the result is a ridiculously grainy picture. So nice try Universal, keep trying, it's getting there.

Great film for the entire family but there might be some scary parts for very young children. The film teaches good moral values like friendship and working together. The only bad thing about the film is it did not transfer well to DVD. THe Blu Ray version is better but the film is still best on VHS.
