This 2 pack DVD Set is Great! We got Ice Age (part 1) and Ice Age 2, The Meltdown (part 2) and my son and myself love watching them. Part 1 is about Sid (John Leguizamo), Manny (Ray Romano), who are trying to head South but come across a woman and her baby in dire straits. Then they come across Diego (Denis Leary) and his pride of tigers, who wanted to eat the baby and Manny! The three animals set out on a dangerous journey to take the child back to its tribe but and along the way, they become a tribe themselves. Very touching and cute. Ice Age 2, The Meltdown is about the 3 animals trying to make it to a boat on top of a mountain, before the meltdown. Along the way they meet a female mammoth (Queen Latifah), who believes she's a possum. Sid demands respects - Will he get it with his new tribe now that he's the fire king? As the water melts, there's danger from prehistoric animals, the carcass eaters and the shifting and melting ice. Kids and grown ups love these movies. Very funny, a joy to watch. We never get tired of them. Enjoy.Read full review
Yea so, you liked the first one, cause the animation was great, and the story was really well done, and then there was Scratt and his nuts. Well, if you just HAVE to see more of the same...dream on. sorry. The 2nd one has a story that is pretty weak, dialog that is not as imaginative, and contrived dangers to face the heros. Only one scene was pretty good, of the dino-fish under the ice. There are also some cute cuts of Scratt. This is not a movie that I would watch multiple times such as the first one. Even the animation seemed different, like the old cartoons that used the familiar characters but you could tell were animated by someone else. -tailfluffs- my advice: Rent it, dont buy it
They did it again! Keeping us entertained from the beginning to end, over & over again! This movie is BRILLIANT, with funny dialogue & comments, incredible graphics & a great storyline! We have already enjoyed this movie a couple of times & it is just as funny when you watch it over again as you notice things you didnt the first time around. An absolute amazing family movie, from toddler to grandparents. Keep em coming, because this is hilarious! HAPPY WATCHING! :o)
There are a few cover your ear moments for little ones. At one moment they refered to a jack ass (indeed an animal, but not something you want a 2-year-old to repeat) and the word Damn. I may have missed one, but I think that was it. Other than the few unnecessary words, this was hilarious. The movie is deep rooted and I believe reflects the family dynamics that we face daily. A mixture of different people from different backgrounds and it teaches that even though you are different, you can still be in the same herd (family).
Super great animation,A fun watch for the entire family. A great story with a fun side. I really enjoyed watching these movies. I am amazed at the animation used these days. Computers are great things when used for the good. This type of movie is reminisent of Disney in the 50's and 60's
