Ashton Kutcher (What Happens in Vegas, A Lot Like Love and more...) stars with Michelle Pfeiffer (Nominated for an Academy Award in Dangerous Liaisons and stars in many motion pictures...) star as two strangers who meet after loosing loved ones to violent crimes. How does a person deal with the loss of someone who is dear to them? How do you react when tradjety strikes you and your family? None of us know how we will react if/when we suffer a loss and in this film the Director shows us two reactions. Kutcher, who looses his twin sister, deals with his loss by reaching inward. Pfeiffer, who looses her husband, deals with her loss by reaching out and helping others. Two reactions that take us on two converging paths. Also is this story we see how other family members are affected, Kathy Bates (Fred Claus, Revolutionary Road and many more) plays the mother who lost her daughter and Spencer Hudson plays the son of Pfeiffer, who lost his father. While the story deals with a very troubling side of life, it touches on some serious issues that are raised when the question is asked "how do you deal with such a loss?" and I feel this movie handles the question very well. The acting is good and story develops in a predictable way so this movie rates a 4 of 5. I would recommend this movie to those who are interested in this type of story however for those who like more action and less drama I suggest renting it instead of buying it.Read full review
