I bought this book because Bob Lenz is the brother of my pastor. I have seen him speak several times at church. He has a way of getting to your heart and really making you think about things. He is serious about what he speaks, but knows how to bring humor in to the subject being taught. I always enjoy his humor! I couldnt' wait to read his book when they announced the release at church. This book was was so hard to put down. If you are not a Christian he shows you how much Christ still loves you and wants you to be his. No matter what you have done in life he wants to extend his grace to you. He shows us how Christ would much rather go to the cross, bear our sin in his own body, and extend you his grace no matter how marred in sin you are then be seperated from you in eternity. If you think you are undeserving of his grace and feel like God could not love you, He shows you why you are dead wrong and shows you how to let God extend his grace to you. For Christians, especially those of us who have been a Christ follower for some time, he points out how sometimes we get caught up in our "religous beliefs" of what's right and wrong and look down on "the sinners" We become arrogant in our faith because we know we are his..we start seperating ourselves from those who are not like us. He shows us how instead of ramming the Gospel down people's throats and scaring them half to death we need to do it in a loving gentle way as Christ did. Leading them to the Lord instead of pressuring them. He talks about how even though we are God's children we need to realize that we still need his grace everyday and not forget that we could go back to our sinful desires at any time, but it is his grace, his love, his working in our lives that allow us to walk with him. The only thing that is different from us and those who have not turned to Christ is grace. Each and everyday we need to be thankful for that, not arrogant about it. So all in all Bob Lenz teaches us that whether we are Christians, non Christians or somewhere in between we all need God's grace no matter what circumstances we live in or what we are doing in our lives. It was an eye opening book for me, because I thought I was doing what I should be doing as a "good Christian" I was dead wrong and realized that some of the things I was doing made me an arrogant Christian even though I had the best of intentions. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read. It is a must read for everyone!! May God open your eyes and help you search your soul through this book so you can come to know who he is or grow closer to him. God Bless!Read full review
