I purchased this book because it came highly recommended by Chicago planners, architects, and other industry professionals. It details the political career of former Chicago mayor Richard J. Daley. The best part about this book is that it is fairly objective in its assessment of the former mayor. There appears to be little political slant throughout the text. There are many topics discussed in this book and anyone who is interested in corruption, public housing, Chicago politics, and/or historical accounts of urbanization would find this book advantageous.
