A lifetime Disney fan (and in the process of planning a Disney wedding!) I was naturally intrigued when Disney began releasing their "Walt Disney Treasures" line of DVDs. Each cartoon included on this set, that includes Mickey Mouse's famous, original cartoon "Steamboat Willie," is a quaint look into an older style of animation that is shadowed by the amazing quality of contemporary computer animation and even stop-motion animation. The included commentary is surprisingly informative (and interesting!) and gives valuable insight about the current quality of cartoons upon the release of these original gems as well as rare information about Walt Disney. Not rich in bonus features, but certainly rich in history, this would be a fabulous purchase for ANY Disney or cartoon/animation fan.
Wonderful collection! It is so great to see how Mickey evolved thru the years. The quality of the transfer to DVD is terrific. The set includes background and commentary on the famous Mouse's origin. His early appearances might not have been exactly a role model for kids, his can do spirit and perseverance start to come through making him into the Mickey we all love.

I am glad that I was able to find this Walt Disney Treasures Collection Mickey Mouse in Black & White vol. 1 and at a good price compared to others. It was new, unopened. Came very quick and am excited to own it since I am a huge Disney fan especially when it comes to the classics. It was nicely packed in newspaper and bubble wrap. Extremely Happy and Satisfied customer.

A collection of shorts that take you back to the early era of cartoons. A few of the earliest example of the mouse that we all love! They have been remastered so there is not much pixelation that would be tiring.

I'm so happy to have this dvd. When I saw the Mickey Mouse in black and white dvd in the store years ago, I bought it thinking that Steamboat Willy would be on the DVD; but then I noticed that it was Mickey Mouse in black and white volume 2. I have been wanting volume 1 for a long time, but Amazon was too expansive. So I waited and over time I forgot about it. I recently went on eBay and I found it for cheaper. Thank you, now my black and white Mickey Mouse collection is complete.
