Looking around at fictional books I stumbled onto this title. From the synopsis it looked rather interesting. It didn't start moving along with any pace in the beginning, but after a few chapters you got to understand the story line and understand the reason it was written this way. Give it time, it will grow on you. The pace quickens and the storyline becomes very interesting. Great description of the locations and characters. The author did well in tying it all together. Had quite a few interesting course changes during the story. All in all a good read and enjoyable. Look forward to seeing if the author can do this well on the next book.
I found this rather unknown book by accident. I am glad I did. I must admit that it took about 100 pages for me to get into the book, but it was a quick read from there on. Kate Mosse weaves this story of the past and present beautifully. She reveals only enough to allow you to start forming a guess about what will happen next; then she side-swipes you and has you changing your mind all over again. The characters were well designed, the plot was driven (after the 1st few chapters) and the backdrop was vividly described. I only hope that I can find more books by this author; if her other offerings are as good as this book, she will be very successful.
Kate Mosse is a brilliant writter. Donada Peters does a great job in narrating. Once you start it is hard to pull yourself away. Kate does a good job of intertwining the past and present into a very intriguing story that keeps you engrossed. I also reccomend her other book; Sepulchre. I was waiting for my flight to Colorado when I found this title in one of the shops. Upon my return home, I decided to go to the book store and pick it up. Immediatly I researched for other "Kate Mosse" books and came accross this one. You will not regret this purchase. This book is about secrets, love, betrayl, the Grail, the past and the future working together to right a wrong. Please; don't waste another minute. Purchase this book and get started on your adventure.
I was replacing the book on CD which I had borrowed from a friend and subsequently lost. However, I read the novel first and enjoyed it so much, that I was exicted to listen to the book on CD in my morning and evening commute of 45 min. each way. I think it helped me that I had read the book, and even though I knew the ending, I still throughly enjoyed this CD. If you like historical novels in the Da Vinci code theme, you will love this book.
