I first learned about this game in a lower grade elementary school classroom. After playing it, I would suggest it for an older audience (such as older kids and adults). Lower elementary kids can play, but it is an abstract concept to grasp, and the attention span is often lost. Each player puts pieces one at a time on the board with the end goal of making certain shapes, worth a varying number of points. Thinking ahead is required, so only play if you are in the mood for a slow, thoughtful game play. Not a party game for sure. Only true negative I have is that I hardly ever win... tough game, but fun too.
Quick to learn, yet good strategy. Similar to Othello.
