these shoes are easier to put on and stay on and not as delicate as vintage, so the strap won't easily break. my only complaint is that even though i carefully opened the package and immediately counted and matched color, one black was missing. very disappointed to only have a single shoe when expecting a pair

While Barbie's open toe shoes (mules) from the 1960s are wonderful collectibles, they only last a short time. Due to age, they are prone to splits when on Barbie's feet. These Mattel 1993 reproductions are stronger, the vinyl was perfected and shoes last longer. I have them in colors of black, red, white, pink, brown and navy. They are soft and supple, the colors are bright and they fit just about any 11.5" Barbie doll.

Made with a more pliable plastic so these don’t split like the original 1960 shoes but they still display perfectly.
