This video is pretty good. It is a decent light cardio workout. I wouldn't suggest this video if you are really trying to slim down. I use it as additional cardio on my sculpt days and as an ab workout. If you are an exercise junkie like me,this DVD is less than basic. I initially purchased it to supplement my belly dancing class, but it isn't very good for that. I'm not very impressed with the routine in the video. But as I have repeatedly stated, it is a decent ab/light sweat cardio DVD. I generally burn about 250 calories doing this workout. Given the choice though, I probably wouldn't buy it again. After buying Rania's Hip Drop Hip Hop, this one just sits on the shelf.
Bellydance Fitness for Beginners is an excellent way to get in shape. Neena & Veena make it so easy in a 30 minute excercise program and you have fun, you don't even feel it's a workout because of all the fun you have while excercising, plus you learn the basic movements for the exotic and sexy bellydancing. I practice these excercises 5 days a week and I have noticed a big change in me.
This DVD is great for novice dancers & those who are new to fitness. Lacking any dance experience myself (other than what my girlfriends and I do after a few cocktails), I'll be the first to admit that I'm no where near a talented dancer. However, this video moved a bit slow even for me. I would definitely recommend this DVD for the less-agile / non-athletically-inclined. However, if you're looking for something that's going to give a somewhat challenging work out that makes you feel the burn this is not it.
I wasn't too impressed with this video. I thought it would teach you real bellydancing techniques and yet it just taught you the exercises to do in preparation. I didn't find it that useful and it doesn't help when the girls who are teaching you these moves don't have the flat stomach normally associated with belly dancing. I don't know why anyone wants to do a routine to target your midsection if it still looks like theirs. But on the other hand, it was fun and did provide a good cardio workout.
I had to have this DVD again, my 2-year-old broke the first one. I like this DVD because it starts you off gradually into the exercise steps unlike some aerobic DVDs where there are too many steps and you can't keep up. I like these series of exercise routines because it targets all the problem areas such as cardio, endurance, Gluteus maximums (butt), hips, thighs, waist, love handles, and you get the proper stretching with this DVD.
