My old mail box was wood and was falling apart. After checking around, I found this one and it turns out to be great quality and is bigger than my old standard metal mailbox. If you need more room and don't want the larger metal boxes, then I would recommend this one. It's light weight but sturdy. The mail man liked it. :)

The package came to me very quickly. It was supposed to get here on December 24, but it actually got here on December 22! I was very surprised and thrilled that it shipped that fast! One of the stars was lost because the door of the mailbox is REALLY tough to open. The second star was lost because a LOT of the white paint on the front was chipped off and not "perfect" like it was pictured. Other than that, it is a sturdy plastic and they did send it in the right color. Overall, I do like the look of the mailbox, but I would have much rather preferred that the white paint was in tact.

Really a nice mailbox if you need a large watertight mailbox, and are handy. Mounting it requires a little more effort than the usual steel mailboxes. The latch does indeed need to be trimmed, and you should expect to paint the mailbox. The seller packed the boxed mailbox inside another box and the paint still rubbed off the trim. I expected this from the reviews, still a bargain for a climate that rains all the time. Dry mail should not be a luxury.
