I bought this book because I had just been diagnosed as being diabetic. It's a pretty good book, but I should have bought the large print version. The one thing I don't like is that you have to flip the pages all the time. I found a little handheld monitor that keeps the totals of the carbs, calories and fat totals by the day and will keep track for a week. Even though it is more money, it would be much more convenient. I don't want to keep a food journal and write everything down. That's just too much work and concentration on my health. I have a couple of chronic diseases and if I kept track of all of it it would be a full time job.
Extremely helpful!!! I am a new insulin user and I needed to learn to count carbs and this publication has helped me immensely. I don't have to guess how many carbs or calories are in certain food items. It covers 99.9% of the foods that I eat, even fast food restaurants. For me there was no need to try any other books. Plus it is small enough to carry to work and most other places. Great buy!

I purchased this item because I was concerned about carbs, sugar and sodium in the foods I eat. This book is very informative and has shown me what I can or should eat. There was nothing to dislike about this book. I have not found a book that is comparable to this one. It is awesome!!
