I bought a Sony SLV-N50 VHS 4 Head Hi Fi Stereo VCR all the way back in 1999. As of this year it met up with it's final days. It had been handling the taking in and ejecting of videos pretty roughly for a while and it decided one day it was done and wouldn't even accept a video anymore. After researching my options I really wanted the same exact VCR again and I found it through Mad City Pickers. It was used but in excellent condition and even came with a brand new remote. We've been using it regularly to record shows and watch videos for over a month now and it's been operating perfectly. I can't say how happy I am to have the same VCR that did so well for nearly 20 years.

The vcr is in great shape, and functioned ok. The remote was for a system, vcr, tv, tape, cd and it would run the vcr, but you could not program it. Got around that by ordering another remote. Every thing works great, and I am well pleased. Now my Wife is very happy. Arnie.

Arrived in perfect condition. No problems with the VCR at all. Missing remote, but easy enough to get set up with a universal one.

I now have 3 Sony VCR's in my home. I purchased the last 2 Sony’s in the last 3 months. My first Sony is the SLV-n50 that I bought new and is still working great. This VCR has outlasted a 2 others and one VCR DVD combo unit. Now days you cannot find a new VCR that is a standalone unit. I have 2 N50 and one N51 and love all 3 great recording and play back quality even with overused tapes. Having 3 kids less than 8 years VCR tapes are still the way to go (at least in the home). I do not have nay reservations about getting a Sony plain ole VCR.
The Sony SLV-N50 is an excellent unit and I highly advise buying one if needed to view your Video tapes...
