The movies are great all by themselves, but this collection of all four makes it easy in terms of taking up shelf space, since four movies are all in one small box. It's very economical and totally worth what you pay for it

The first 2 directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton are excellent then u can just skip the next disc as the last two are beyond camp and just silly despite some name stars. And they look pretty lame though watchable. The 4 movies are on 2 double sided discs which I personally dislike historically they have a tendency to freeze up. Sound and audio is clean and clear in widescreen and subtitled the hearing impaired.

Long before director Christopher Nolan revived the legacy of Batman on the big screen in the 21st century with Christian Bale as the caped crusader, there were a string of feature films from filmmakers Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher that told about the adventures of this legendary character. Originally released to theaters from 1989 to 1997, these four movies became box office hits and paved the way for the trilogy that followed. The first installment, 1989's "Batman" stars Michael Keaton as multi-millionaire crime-fighter Bruce Wayne. Also joining him is future Oscar winner Kim Basinger as photojournalist Vickie Vale, Pat Hingle as Commisioner Gordon and Oscar winner Jack Nicholson as the Joker. 1992's "Batman Returns" co-stars Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and Danny DeVito as the Penguin. 1995's "Batman Forever" features Val Kilmer as Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Robin, Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face and Jim Carrey as the Riddler. 1997's "Batman & Robin" stars George Clooney as Batman, Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl, Oscar nominee Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. Together, this series has captivated audiences throughout the world with its gritty story-telling, awe-inspiring visuals, unique costume deigns and overall set decoration. Plus, these characters have become the stuff made of legend. This 2-disc DVD set which features all four films is a real bargain for any Bat-fan. Combined with the later "Dark Knight Trilogy", and you have a cinematic legacy about a truly one-of-a-kind superhero that remains timeless and a favorite for people of all ages.Read full review

Just like any genre of motion picture, you must be a fan of Marvel Comics and be a Batman freak to enjoy the four live action films encapsulated onto these DVDs. At such a low price, having the four lets you follow the winged warrior through a mood swing that the comic strip character never let you feel. Michael Keaton's initial runthrough sets the pace and the other films take you through a neo-film noir of story lines. I just wish that we could actually take them down into black and white textures for more of a vintage feel, but that's okay. Pop a few bowls of popcorn loaded down with 10-40 weight butter and enough salt to harden the arteries of a killer whale, turn off the cell phone and have a great evening watching Batman and Robin, the Joker and more!
