In 1964, Jacqueline Kennedy recorded seven historic interviews about her life with John F. Kennedy. Now, for the first time, they can be read in this deluxe, illustrated eBook. Shortly after President John F. Kennedy's assassination, with a nation deep in mourning and the world looking on in stunned disbelief, Jacqueline Kennedy found the strength to set aside her own personal grief for the sake of posterity and begin the task of documenting and preserving her husband's legacy. In January of 1964, she and Robert F. Kennedy approved a planned oral-history project that would capture their first-hand accounts of the late President as well as the recollections of those closest to him throughout his extraordinary political career. For the rest of her life, the famously private Jacqueline Kennedy steadfastly refused to discuss her memories of those years, but beginning that March, she fulfilled her obligation to future generations of Americans by sitting down with historian Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., and recording an astonishingly detailed and unvarnished account of her experiences and impressions as the wife and confidante of John F. Expect Great Things
This multimedia combination is more than I expected. This is a fantastic pairing of recording and transcript--plus a wonderful forward by Caroline Kennedy. It's a must-have for any scholar of the Kennedy Presidency or an interest is the (mostly silent) Jacqueline Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy had the same respect for history as her martyred husband. Expect great things.

One book you just don't want to miss reading this year!
I'm a big Kennedy fan so this was, to me, a great book. I've really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who, like me, is a Kennedy fan or is just a history buff.

I ordered this so I could listen to Jacqueline Kennedy in the interviews on the cd's However, when I received my order, it only included the book and was missing the cd's! I have not read the book yet, but it appears to be a lovely book, missing the cd set

Interesting and fascinating read
Since my daughter has wanted this book since it was published we purchased for her .. but I am reading and she is listening to the audio. Mrs. Kennedy recollects her life with the President and describes what a fair and caring person he was. Anyone who is interested in history - or the Kennedy's - would enjoy this book.
