I love love this series. It's too bad that the original writer died of cancer before it was completed, however a good author has taken over. While he has a different writing style than R. Jordan had, he does a fair job of the last book. The new book 'Towers of Midnight is due out Nov. 2010. This series has a little something for everyone, romance, drama, and lots of adventure and action and more! Each character is very well developed and complex while staying consistent and growing as he/she ages throughout the series. The background for it was very well written, making the societies of the various towns, cities, and countries seem to come alive, almost like this is a future we could very well have, while still remaining in the fantasy genre. Everything is so well detailed and written to remind you of what you may forget while never being onerous. I love that the series is so long. I highly recommend starting from the beginning. After reading this mutli times I still find things I never noticed before and my point of view changes as I get older, keeping it new and fresh for me. This is my 7th time reading the Wheel of Time Series since the librarian at my high school ordered it specifically for me in 2002. I know I will continure to read the series throughout my life.Read full review
In this the sixth installment of Rand Al'Thor and friends, the saga continues. The storyline twists a bit MORE than the previous books, but the jumping around from perspective to perspective happens LESS. Not one of my particular favorites from the series but more than just a read to keep up with the whole story. I enjoy Jordan's writing and this book was no exception. But there were a few points that didn't hold me as deeply as others. But this is also the beginnings of the greatness that is to follow. And the are a couple of REALLY great parts that WILL hold you through 3 or more chapters straight. I hope that more people enjoy this series. I would love to see another by Jordan.
If you are like me, you loved this series but were only able to afford hardback editions toward the end of the series, eBay provides an affordable way to back fill your collection.

This book was abit plodding. the story line advances, and new threads are introduced. The more sinister side of the Forsaken is developed. but it moves slowly, some times almost painstakingly slow. All is needed for the future books, and supports the previous 5. It doesn't wrap up any of the story lines, which is alittle discouraging at this point in the series. It makes one wonder if the author will be able to bring all the threads together at the end of the series.
Excellent gift for a person that is a "Wheel of Time" fan
