I love the fact that it was upgraded (Mobile 6.1), came with office software installed, and extra mem cards. Starded useing it right out of the box , no additional loading required. The sync to computer of course was necessary but the main use as a portable wireless OFFICE compatable is great! I hope I can find another at this price as a gife/replacement. The attached cover is good and the screen can still be viewed. It fits well in my hand. The battery life for my use is better than three days. I use it for documents and internet email twice a day and at least 15 minutes per session. It replaced a PALM TX, I wish I had done it sooner. This model has been around for a while and seems like a good one.
I've had my iPAQ 2790 several weeks now and like it very much. I had previously owned an iPAQ 2210 so only have that unit as a comparison. I traded up to get the internal wifi. The good: 1. Internal wifi and bluetooth. Surprisingly good connections, fast loading, stable, easy to switch wifi/bluetooth on/off. 2. Unit stability. Fewer soft resets. Handles multiple running programs. 3. Operation speed. Much faster than the 2210 (which was no slouch!). 4. Beautiful display, doesn't wash out in bright light. Easy reading. 5. The plastic flip cover. It allows me to carry the unit in my pocket without a case (which adds weight and bulk). 6. Versatility. Uses for mine: a. ebook reader (take your library with you) b. records vault (ewallet) c. appointment calendar (outlook)with alarms and alarm clock d. Various lists, shopping etc. Very good freeware available. e. media player, bluetooth stereo with optional headphones, can also plug into car stereo with optional cord f. With optional equipment/software can use as gps navigation unit, give presentations on digital projectors g. An optional bluetooth keyboard also expands it's functionality The bad: 1. Could use some improvement on the keypad. A bit small. Found that it sometimes advances multiple pages on an ebook. Also would like to have seen a separate toggle on the side of the unit that could be used to advance pages in an ebook. 2. A bit larger than the 2210. But this is somewhat offset with the flip cover that eliminates the need for a case. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I don't leave home without it.Read full review
