I purchased this book because I'm an immense Jim Butcher fan. I love the Dresden Files the way other people love Harry Potter. I see great similarities in both stories. I always recommend the Dresden books to other people as being an American adult version of the aforementioned series and thus far everyone has loved what they've read, just as I have. The new edition of Dresden is hilarious, fresh, with the fabulous sarcasm that Harry Dresden is known for. He's the hero that doesn't want to be a hero, and its not about modesty. Each character is a refreshing spin on things, and I kind of like the idea of Harry's new romantic interest. Simply put, this book is fabulous. Read it, you won't be disappointed.

It was the last of the Harry Dresden novels and I did not have it. Anyone who has read all but one of a series of books and really enjoyed them all know what a powerful pull that creates. I had looked in all the local bookstores for it and could not find it and there it was on sale in Ebay. I was able to get it for about the same as the paperback would cost when it came out in paperback but this was the hardback. To make a novel into a short story I bid, I won, I got it and then I read it. Now I am hoping he writes another one as it is an excellent fantasy / mystery storyline, full of interesting characters, overlapping plots that still stand on their own and a consistent world setting.
