To an extent, having a collection most people consider to be of toys can be embarrassing. But like a lot of things in life, the collection tells history. It explains the march of technology. It explains commerce. It explains leisure. It interprets priority. For history buffs, a collection like this begs further research, and makes interpreting "small points" really easy. It is, in short, a tool. What better way to legitimize a collection like this than to remove the "play" aspect by putting the collection up and away onto a wall where it can be rationally viewed like art! Whatever motivation a collector can have, this display case is a pretty slick way to lay out the collection for discussion. I did note that the Carney people offer a case that displays the objects at an angle in a bid to fit more into a tighter spacing. I decided not to go that route, but to "spread" the objects out in order to be able to view more of each item this way. The mirror backing is nice and it does add to the effect of a more extensive access to each element. As in all acrylic items, it is to be respected, like an expensive aircraft window, by not applying ammonia based cleaners, and I would suspect some have been brought to grief this way -- I would hope that in the future all deliveries of these products would include a small container of an appropriate cleaning solution so all owners get started out with a proper handle on the care these cases will need. I didn't see anything so far that I would change with this product. I will be able, I suppose, to modify it if I deem it necessary, but for now, I am happy with the product the way it was delivered. I will add that I was concerned about damage the case could have suffered in shipment, but the worry was unwarranted and I would do this again if my collection were to require another. I was able to install the case without the suggested helper, but feel that the helper is a great idea. The case did require a reasonable investment, and I would have felt terrible if I had damaged it in installation. I feel that the instructions were a bit vague when discussing the hinge pins, and looking back, feel that the issues on identifying and dealing with those pins might have been better explained with better drawings and nomenclature.Read full review

I looked and looked for something I could display all of the Mustang's I have collected and I really love the mirror in the back.

like i said this is a beautiful product but the hinge pins should be steel instead of plastic. i broke 2 and a hinge taking the top off. the pins were hard to knock out. plastic on plastic made them sticky. i will order again tho, it was probably my fault.

I have purchased many, many of these beautifully made cases. I would add these are also available with a clear back. Also,I own several other smaller size display cases (like the 36) and honestly, there is no better quality case on this planet. Carney Plastics - on eBay - and online - check them out - they have tons of options. Dividers / no dividers. Angled view, straight on view, tilted view, mirror, clear, etc etc..
