Get hands wet first. Put a squirt of soap on the brush side designed for underneath the nails and scrub. Use this nail brush 3 times minimally a day and it works exactly as designed. Since the use is high the "underneath the nail brush side" lasts about 6 months. The other side stays firm and usable for over a year. The bristles are firm, but flexible. Most nail brush are either soft so they go flat after a few uses, or hard so they cut the skin around the nail bed and underneath the nails. These bristles are firm enough to scrub the dirt away without cutting. The "underneath the nail side" brushes are in 1 row and positioned closely to the plastic so that the fingernails are positioned about 15 degrees away. The angled brush now scrubs the underside of the nail, allowing the fingers to push against the plastic for resistance and maximum brushing contact without cutting the skin away under the finger nails. This brush is designed for maximum clean.Read full review

Made in the USA! These are great for cleaning your hands and nails after a day outside or in the garage. The bristles are perfect for getting under your nails, just don't use too much force or they will wear out faster. I am on my 3rd or 4th EPPCO brush in the last 3-4 years, so I replace mine about once a year. Then I re-purpose it to clean parts or other things.

This is the one to buy. Another looks similar is less expensive but bristles separated after one use.

There are very few bristles on the back side and they are not very stiff, so it is hard to clean grease and dirt out from under a persons fingernails. They claimed it to be heavy duty. “The Degreaser” is a better brush for the money.
