I bought it because i saw the Thomas's on a membership drive for PBS and it looked like there were a lot of neat concoctions in their books. The recipies use common household items for the most part. The most exotic ingredient i've come across is liquid starch. This book has about 10 kinds of playdough and 10 kinds of paints. Few are practical. Many of the remaining 20 or so activities are questionably practical to do or sound that great. Perhaps one of the other books would have been are better to buy. I am still looking forward to giving as many recipies as possible a try with my kids. I'm sure they will be better than they sound.
Bought this book thinking it would be nice to have for my great niece and I to make things together when I am babysitting and later on for my grandchildren. Have not used it yet but I think one of the things I like best is you can make things with things you have around the house. Also the kids may learn something and not know it.
Great book with fun activities.

LOVED this book, still do actually, it is great fun, my daughter , who is 9 , loves going around the house to gather the supplies, and making weird stuff only the Thomas's would think of! Great fun, and all the fun it promises and more! Well worth the money to pass the summertime and weekends with great fun.
I love how this product uses everyday household items to make fun experiences with the kids. I decided to buy this item off of ebay because of the price compared to the offering on tv.
